Statement
My central theme is the exploration of how people perceive their lives and the connections between humans and cultures in contemporary society. Today’s society and culture are in constant flux, often encompassing conflict, tension, and uncertainty. In this context, I seek answers inspired by nature and pursue an ecological approach that goes beyond a human-centered perspective, opening up diverse viewpoints.
Through my works, I aim to transform anxiety, exhaustion, and conflict into love, hope, healing, and insight. In this context, my ceramics depict beings filled with wounds, like firewood, to embody emptiness and uncertainty. Forms, textures, colors, and the serendipitous effects arising during firing are all organic and reflect processes of understanding and empathy. In doing so, my works reveal the inevitable truths faced by humans and society, while simultaneously highlighting the power and possibilities inherent in transformation.
My practice is also an experimental inquiry into the material potential of ceramics within the context of contemporary society and culture. In a multicultural environment where diverse values and cultures coexist and sometimes collide, where minority voices are present, and where globalization generates complex social relations, I experiment with the scientific and material interactions of form, material, glaze, and color to explore new visual and emotional modes of expression. Through this process, my works realize the potential of ceramics while revealing fundamental elements such as hope, love, and truth.
My practice embodies the aesthetics of transformation, positioning ceramics as a medium that transcends mere materiality to make visible the uncertainties experienced collectively by humans, society, and culture, as well as the hope, love, and truth that arise within them. In this way, my works facilitate ongoing reflection and empathy within temporal and cultural contexts, reminding us through observation and experience of the essential elements of life.

저의 중심 주제는 사람들이 자신의 삶을 인식하는 방식과 현대 사회에서 인간과 인간, 그리고 문화 간의 연결을 탐구하는 것입니다. 오늘날 사회와 문화는 끊임없이 변화하며, 때로는 충돌과 갈등, 불확실성을 내포합니다. 저는 이러한 상황에서 자연에서 영감을 얻어 해답을 찾고, 인간 중심의 관점을 넘어 다양한 시각을 열어주는 생태학적 접근을 추구합니다.
작품을 통해 불안과 피로, 갈등을 사랑과 희망, 치유와 통찰로 전환하고자 합니다. 이러한 맥락에서 제 도자 작품에서는 장작처럼 상처로 가득 찬 존재를 표현하여 허무함과 불안을 담아냅니다. 자연에서 영감을 받은 형태, 질감, 색채, 그리고 소성 과정에서 발생하는 우연성은 모두 유기적이며 이해와 포용의 변화를 담고 있습니다. 이를 통해 작품은 인간과 사회가 마주하는 필연적 진리를 드러내고, 변화의 힘과 가능성을 상기시킵니다.
또한 제 작업은 현대 사회와 문화적 맥락 속에서 도자의 물질적 가능성을 탐구하는 실험적 연구이기도 합니다. 다양한 가치관과 문화가 공존하며 충돌하는 다문화 환경, 소수 문화의 목소리, 그리고 글로벌화로 인한 복잡한 사회적 관계 속에서 도자는 형태, 재료, 유약, 색채의 과학적·물질적 상호작용을 통해 새로운 시각적·감정적 표현 가능성을 보여줍니다. 이 과정을 통해 작품은 도자의 잠재력을 현실화하며, 동시에 희망, 사랑, 진리와 같은 근본적 요소를 드러냅니다.
제 작업은 변화 자체의 미학을 실현하며, 도자가 단순한 물질을 넘어 인간과 사회, 문화가 함께 경험하는 불확실성과 그 안에서 피어나는 희망, 사랑, 진리를 드러내는 매체가 되도록 합니다. 이를 통해 작품은 시대적·문화적 맥락 속에서도 지속적인 성찰과 공감을 가능하게 하며, 관찰과 경험을 통해 우리 삶의 근본적 요소를 상기시키고자 합니다.

Mein zentrales Thema ist die Erforschung der Art und Weise, wie Menschen ihr Leben wahrnehmen, sowie der Verbindungen zwischen Menschen und Kulturen in der modernen Gesellschaft. Die heutige Gesellschaft und Kultur befinden sich in einem ständigen Wandel und beinhalten dabei oft Konflikte, Spannungen und Unsicherheiten. In dieser Situation suche ich Antworten, inspiriert von der Natur und verfolge einen ökologischen Ansatz, der über eine rein
menschzentrierte Perspektive hinausgeht und vielfältige Sichtweisen eröffnet.
Durch meine Werke möchte ich Unruhe, Erschöpfung und Konflikte in Liebe, Hoffnung, Heilung und Einsicht transformieren. In meinen keramischen Arbeiten stelle ich Holz dar, das voller Wunden ist, um Gefühle der Unruhe und Leere auszudrücken. Formen, Texturen, Farben und die zufälligen Prozesse beim Brennen sind organisch und spiegeln Veränderungen in Verständnis und Empathie wider. So offenbaren meine Werke die unvermeidlichen Wahrheiten, denen Menschen und Gesellschaft gegenüberstehen, und machen gleichzeitig die Kraft und die Möglichkeiten von Wandel sichtbar.
Meine Arbeit ist außerdem ein experimentelles Forschungsprojekt, das die materiellen Möglichkeiten von Keramik im Kontext der modernen Gesellschaft und Kultur untersucht. In einer multikulturellen Umgebung, in der verschiedene Wertvorstellungen und Kulturen koexistieren und manchmal kollidieren, in der die Stimmen von Minderheiten gehört werden und durch die Globalisierung komplexe soziale Beziehungen entstehen, experimentiere ich mit den wissenschaftlichen und materiellen Interaktionen von Form, Material, Glasur und Farbe, um neue visuelle und emotionale Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten zu erforschen. Durch diesen Prozess realisieren meine Werke das Potenzial von Keramik und offenbaren gleichzeitig grundlegende Elemente wie Hoffnung, Liebe und Wahrheit.
Meine Arbeit verfolgt die Ästhetik des Wandels und macht Keramik zu einem Medium, das über reines Material hinausgeht und die Unsicherheit, die Menschen, Gesellschaft und Kultur gemeinsam erleben, sowie darin aufblühende Hoffnung, Liebe und Wahrheit sichtbar macht. So ermöglichen meine Werke auch im Kontext von Zeit und Kultur kontinuierliche Reflexion und Empathie und erinnern durch Beobachtung und Erfahrung an die grundlegenden Elemente unseres Lebens.
